Gorge Soup: I won a grant to create my event called Stand Up 4 Water Awareness, where I taught kids how to stand up paddleboard, and combined it with water quality awareness. The event took place on July 22nd in Hood River Oregon. There was a guest water quality specialist that taught the kids about clean water and water safety for the second portion of the day. You can check out the website at

I came up with the idea for Stand Up 4 Water Awareness by performing my own water quality tests at every event site I went to. My idea started growing, and I thought it would be fun to get more kids involved in Stand Up Paddle boarding. I thought combining science and sports would be a fun way to get more kids involved, so I presented to Gorge Soup, an organization that gives start up money to entrepreneurs. I presented my idea to Gorge Soup, and the audience of 125 people voted for my business idea. The event took place on July 22nd, 2013.
